Coronavirus Update Tuesday 26 May 2020

To all our wonderful volunteers, riders, supporters and friends

It has been quite some time since we sent an update to you and we have been overwhelmed by your kind support over the last few weeks.

LFRDA will be remaining closed for a while longer, the safety of our volunteers and participants remains a priority at all times and is at the heart of everything we do.

It is too early for us to give a start date for when we can resume our RDA activities. As you can imagine there is a lot to consider in order for us to open safely. It will take some time to develop new risk assessments and policies in response to the COVID-19 official guidance. Please bear with us while we make these changes. Thank you for your patience, rest assured the team are working extremely hard behind the scenes, in preparation for our reopening.

We will be sending further updates in the coming weeks. We miss you and look forward to getting our RDA family back together as soon as we can.

In the meantime we wish you, your families and your friends all the very best.

Coronavirus Update Tuesday 17 March 2020

It is with regret that, following the rapidly changing situation regarding Coronavirus the Long Furlong RDA Board of Trustees, after careful consideration, have taken the reluctant decision to suspend LFRDA activities with immediate effect. As you can appreciate this decision has not been taken lightly and has not been an easy one to make. However, the health and well-being of all our volunteers, riders and visitors is of upmost importance to us.Our operations will be reviewed regularly, it is not possible to say when we will re-open but we will keep you updated. We realise that this will be extremely disappointing for all involved with the group and we wish you, and all of your loved ones, well during the current circumstances.

Long Furlong Riding for the Disabled Group

Charity number: 1170464

LFRDA provides horse riding lessons for disabled adults (over 18). Our riders ride for therapy, achievement and fun. Riding sessions run on Wednesday mornings and afternoons at The Chestnuts Riding School, Pyecombe BN45 7FJ.

The group is happy to take on new riders including complete beginners. LFRDA can help individuals who may want to get back into riding following an injury or encourage a complete beginner to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of riding.

New volunteers are also warmly welcome, no experience with horses required as full training is given.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Best wishes The Long Furlong RDA Team
